The fifth-largest smartphone maker in the world has achieved Guinness World Record status by selling 2.11 million of its smartphones within a 24-hour period. Xiaomi has claimed the record for “most mobile phones sold at one online platform in a day.”

1,800 of the company’s customer service representatives answered over one million calls in one day.
Xiaomi began as a Beijing start-up led by Lei Jun and began launching products in other parts of Asia in 2013 and has become so popular that a Mi Fan Club actually exists.
According to the company, it is ready to begin introducing its products in other parts of the world.
Xiaomi smartphones are similar to Apple and Samsung products and come much cheaper, too, but even with its low prices, the company became the fifth-largest smartphone maker and was estimated at a value of $46 billion.
