We’re all familiar with the bulky, noisy air conditioners that bring us relief in the summer months. But these units, which have been around for over 60 years, have been in need for a serious upgrade. Enter Noria, the sleek, lightweight air conditioner that syncs to your phone and cleverly installs into existing windows.

Suited for small rooms, Noria is designed to fit horizontally, taking away only a portion of the view when in use. The frame is installed first and easily adapts to the width using extendable arms. At just about six inches tall, it fits slide-down windows best. As for Noria itself, it fits comfortably into a frame adapter, and no screws or bolts are required.
Of course, a smarter way to stay cool brings along smart features. You can control Noria via Bluetooth and create energy-saving schedules from your iPhone or Android device. Better yet, the fresh air mode brings in outside air on cooler nights — even central air can’t offer that — and Noria’s highly engineered fans and ventilation system are quiet and efficient.
Unlike traditional window air conditioners, Noria directs cool air towards the ceiling, creating a convective cycle that prevents cold and hot spots in the room. At 5,000 BTU/hour, Noria can cool a 10'x16' room, and two Noria units can cool a room up to 330 sq ft.

Equipped with a single knob, Noria’s user interface is easy to use. Simply plug it in and set the thermostat. You can then set a schedule via the iOS and Android apps to ensure you never use more energy than what is needed.
Currently Noria has raised $3 million from both Indiegogo and Kickstarter. A single Noria unit costs $299 plus shipping on preorder, and it’s scheduled to retail for $400 once it hits the market.
