ZMD AG (ZMDI) to sponsor, exhibit smart power management devices at APEC 2012
DRESDEN, GERMANY – JANUARY 30, 2012 – ZMD AG (ZMDI), a global supplier of energy-efficient analog and mixed-signal solutions for automotive, industrial, and medical applications, will sponsor and exhibit at the Applied Power Electronics Conference & Exposition (www.apec-conf.org), to be held February 5 – 9, 2012 in Orlando, Florida.
ZMDI will display two product lines designed to address specific application needs ranging from mobile devices to high-end systems, such as servers and storage units. ZMDI features the ZSPM1000 and ZSPM9000 single-phase point-of-load (POL) chipset where stability, very fast transient response, and steady-state performance is necessary, such as server, storage units and other high-end applications. In addition, ZMDI will present the ZSPM401x family of current-mode synchronous 1A to 3A DC/DC buck converters. Newly released in January 2012 this new product offers a small footprint, 93% (6Vin to 3.3Vout @ 1A), high light-load efficiency, and 5uA standby current to extend battery life for smart phones, tablets and other space-constrained mobile products.
“ZMDI entered the power management market in 2010 with a keen focus on meeting the special needs of this industry sector. The ZSPM1000 was the result,” stated Ed Lam, vice-president of marketing and business development at ZMDI. “Leveraging our expertise in precision design, power expertise, and system knowledge, we’ve introduced devices that facilitate fast design and cost-efficient solutions.”
