600-W DC/DC converter boasts highest efficiency for its class

Murata’s 600-W eighth brick DC/DC converter meets the growing power requirements for networking and telecommunications infrastructure equipment

By Gina Roos, editor-in-chief

Murata Power Solutions released its DRE-11.4/53-L48 600-watt (W) eighth-brick intermediate bus converter (IBC) to meet the growing power requirements of networking and telecommunications infrastructure equipment. Boasting the highest efficiency in the industry at this power output level and small package size, the DC/DC converter is suited for applications that require a 600-W IBC that supports a Vin range of 36 VDC to 60 VDC.

The DRE-11.4/53-L48 series incorporates advanced digital control techniques, and comes with standard features, including parallel load sharing of two or more modules, start-up & shut-down into pre-bias (no reverse currents), positive or negative on/off logic options, and over-current and over-temperature protection. The module also provides 2,250 VDC I/O isolation with a functional insulation safety rating.
