Mojo Vision , the Invisible Computing company, recently unveiled its Mojo Vision 14,000-ppi display, which it calls the smallest and densest dynamic display in the industry. The company said that the 0.48-mm prototype, using microLEDs, delivers pixel density 300 times greater than current smartphone displays.
Industry researchers expect that microLEDs will compete cost-effectively in a number of next-generation wearables, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) platforms, and heads-up displays. The key benefits: MicroLEDs require about 10% of the power of LCD displays and offer about five- to 10-times-higher brightness than OLEDs for better viewing outdoors and in sunlight.
Touting a record pixel pitch of more than 14,000 ppi and a pixel density of more than 200M ppi2 , the new monochrome display technology is critical to the company’s development of AR solutions and considered a breakthrough for its Invisible Computing platform. The platform focuses on delivering information faster, unobtrusively, and hands-free without the distraction of screens from phones, tablets, and other devices.
“Mojo Vision’s record-setting display is our first important step in reimagining how we access, view, and share information beyond current mobile platforms,” said Mike Wiemer, CTO at Mojo Vision, in a statement. “Today’s devices are tethered to us and often create a barrier to personal interactions. Now is the time for us to rethink the delivery of that information so that it is less intrusive. Our team has designed and built groundbreaking display technologies with this intent in mind.”

The company said that it will release more details on its microLED displays and technology development at a future date.
Mojo Vision, founded in 2015, emerged from stealth mode in November 2018 and has raised over $108 million in funding to develop its new AR platform. Some of its latest investors include Advantech Capital, Gradient Ventures, HP Tech Ventures, Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, Bold Capital Partners, LG Electronics, Kakao Ventures, and Stanford StartX.
