Ultra-small MOSFETs target wearables

Nexperia’s tiny MOSFETS are 36% smaller than previous-generation devices with the lowest RDS(on), targeting mobile and portable applications, including wearables

By Gina Roos, editor-in-chief

Nexperia has developed a line of ultra-small MOSFETs in the DFN0606 package for mobile and portable applications, including wearables. The devices offer the lowest RDS(on)  for their size and use the popular pitch of 0.35 mm to simplify PCB assembly processes.

With a footprint of 0.62 × 0.62 mm, the PMH family of DFN0606-packaged MOSFETs offers a 36% space savings when compared to previous-generation DFN1006 parts. Thanks to advanced process technology, the new devices offer the lowest RDS(on)  in the market, with a more-than-60% reduction compared to competitor devices, according to Nexperia.

The devices also exhibit excellent ESD performance and a VGS low-voltage threshold down to 0.7 V, an important parameter for portable applications with low drive voltages, said Nexperia.

Nine PMH devices in the new DFN0606 package are available now. Product specs and datasheets can be found here .
