Spectrum analyzer adds 1-GHz analysis bandwidth option

Rohde & Schwartz has added a 1-GHz analysis bandwidth option to its mid-range signal and spectrum analyzer to analyze wideband signals for 5G NR.

Rohde & Schwarz has added an internal analysis bandwidth of up to 1 GHz to its R&S FSVA3000 mid-range signal and spectrum analyzer family to analyze wideband signals for 5G NR and future wireless standards. The wideband signal test solution was previously only available in high-end instruments, according to the company. The new R&S FSV3-B1000 hardware option is available for all models from 7.5 GHz to 44 GHz.

Rohde & Schwarz FSVA3000 spectrum analzyer The high measurement speed enables the R&S FSVA3000 to support manufacturers in the development and production of 5G NR base stations, mobile phones, and components, particularly in the 28-GHz and 39-GHz bands. With the supported 5G NR downlink and uplink measurement options, the instrument is easy to set up for analyzing 5G NR signals with several component carriers, said Rohde & Schwartz.

The R&S FSVA3000, which also can be used in military/aerospace and automotive applications, can also characterize wideband amplifiers or be used for troubleshooting, capturing even very short events, said the company. It also now offers sufficient bandwidth for SEM and ACLR measurements of wideband signals also in I/Q mode.

Key features include an advanced autoset for the quick configuration of frequently performed measurements, support for the measurement of short rise and fall times (down to 1 ns system rise time), and detection of ultrashort pulses. In addition, the RF performance enables the capturing and predistorting, for instance a 200-MHz wide signal, and measuring the effects of distortion up to the fifth harmonic, according to the company.

The R&S FSV3-B1000 1-GHz analysis bandwidth option is available now. Other R&S 5G testers include the R&S TS8996 RSE  and 5G Site Testing Solution.
